If your pet has a growth that is growing or changing SEE A VET !
Tumors can be benigh or cancerous.
BENIGN – do not remove unless it affects pet’s quality of life.
REMOVE ANY QUESTIONABLE LUMPS
PAPILOMA VIRUS
Papiloma virus causes “culiflower” like “warts”. This is due to immune system imbalance. It is common for pets 8 years and older to exhibit viral warts. Removing wart will NOT remove virus and warts typically do return.
Vaccines have been implicated in expressing papiloma virus. Dr. Pitcarin, a world renown vet states… “when animals had lots of vaccines, warts will come out”. Treatment for VACINOSIS, same as warts in Homeopathy medicine Thujia 30C.
Acute expression in warts in younger dogs (mouth area) can resolve on their own. Pet will have reduced quality of life if warts are in the mouth, however, warts will resolve on their own with improved immune system. Dogs with oral papiloma should be quarantined.
SEBACIOUS ADENOMA
Sebacious Adenoma is causes by non viral warts or benign tumor. Oil glands start to overproduce oil and they can get bigger and bigger. Sebacious Adenoma can be scabby and itchy. Remove Sebacious Adenomas if it grows where it bothers dog !
MEBOIAN GLAND ADENOMA
Meboian Gland Adenoma is a sebacious cyst around the eye lid. There are benign but can grow and irritate cornea. If this occurs, have the vet remove it.
LIPOMA
Lipoma is benign fatty mass in dogs. All type of dogs can develop can develop Lypoma under the skin or in the muscle. They are soft and squishy and they can move freely. If they are in the muscle they are hard. If they are growing in a place where at some point it will decreases quality of life, then have vet remove it when they are smaller in size as that will be less evasive. Debulking surgery removes majority of fat, but these tumors can reform in the same location.
