Stop Bleeding

IF YOUR PET IS EXPERIENCING ANY TYPE OF MAJOR BLEEDING INTERNAL OR EXTERNAL, IT IS 911, TAKE YOUR PET TO VET RIGHT AWAY !

HERBS THAT PROMOTE HEMOSTASIS (stops bleeding)

I am one of those who is always prepared for any type of 911 in my home. Sometimes being able to control, stabilize and stop bleeding at home before going to vet can save a life ! For that reason I will provide information on what can be done. Again keep in mind this is a step #1 before taking your pet to a veterinarian !

HEMOSTATICS HERBS

CAYENE (capsicum) 1st aid powder is effective at stopping bleeding. Ground cayene can be also used internally or externally. When applied topically on an open wound it doesn’t hurt much. Not my choice to use on pets but if nothing else is available, then use it.

GOLDENROD in topical applications, goldenrod has remarkable hemostatic qualities especially when the dried and powdered flowers are used. The powder can be applied liberally to stop bleeding and inhibit bacterial infection of minor cuts & abrasions.

HORSETAIL aside from used to stop bleeding, primary use for horsetail is healing connective tissue and bones. It prevents bone degeneration, treats skin and coat disorders and even senility in older animals. It helps maintain a healthy balance of silicon in the body of aging animals.

PLANTAIN (used to stop internal bleeding of mucous membranes)

I have dedicated entire page to PLANTAIN and it’s many healing properties.

PROFUSE BLEEDING

Yunnan Baiyao is my first choice and every home should have this herb both in pill and powder form. However not everyone knows about this herb and it may not be readily available in health stores or herb pharmacies.

Yunnan Baiyao – an herbal remedy…

The Chinese soldiers used to carry this with them in case they got shot.

True Yunnan Baiyao has 15 orange pills & 1 red pill in the center of the pack.

The red pill is the emergency pill, to stop the shock from blood loss, and the orange pills stop bleeding.

Give red pill only in an absolute emergency !
