Ah how I love manuka… Sweet amazing remedy…Natural strong antibiotic that can safely be used on young puppies and kittens. It also has amazing wound healing properties. Manuka can also be used to treat allergies, digestive issues and stomach ulcers. Start off slow and keep the amount small.

EVERY BRAND OF MANUKA HONEY HAS ONE MORE HIGHER POTENCY. IN ORDER TO HAVE MEDICINAL POTENCY UMF HAS TO BE 15+. THE HIGHER THE POTENCY THE HIGHER THE MEDICINAL & HEALING PROPERTIES ! The next potency is 20+ and 25+. However, the difference in healing properties between 20+ & 25+ is slight and price is double. Not only that, but the price will also vary between the brands. For instance, Comvita brand 20+ potency is double the price of other mentioned brands above who have the same 20+ potency ! The only reason I posted Comvita on this page is to show you the price difference and to point that Comvia 20+ is same as other brands 20+ mentioned above. Do not pay double price for 20+ potency when for that same money you can pay for 25+ from other brand if you are set on getting the absolute highest potency ! In my experience and working with different manuka brands I found that 20+ is more than sufficient.
MANUKA HEALTH
The highest grading for Manuka Health brand I found was MGO 573+ (16+ UMF)
MANUKA COMES IN DIFFERENT POTENCY, THE STRONGEST BEING UMF 25+ BUT SUPER EXPENSIVE. In order for manuka to have medicinal potency it has to be minimum UMF 15+. MANUKA WITH GRADING OF LESS THAN UMF 15+ (UMF 5+, UMF 7+, UMF 10+) is not considered to have medicinal potency !
HOWEVER… I used lower grade MANUKA HEALTH brand and for the longest time I believed that MGO 400+ grading was equal to UMF 20+ until they redesigned their label to show UMF 13+ (lower than medicinal potency)
The results I had even with this low potency UMF 13+ was amazing. Below is just one of the cases where Manuka Health UMF 13+ potency was used.
