Conventional Antibiotics are very harsh even for humans !
Giving animals antibiotic is brutal as well, especially in tiny fur babies.
Conventional antibiotics destroy entire colony of beneficial organisms that thrive in intestines and colon.
In addition conventional antibiotics burn the intestinal and colon lining !
Since 70 % of the immune system is located in colon, steps must be taken to repair damage that conventional antibiotics have caused in pets and in humans.
Here is the protocol to follow if your pet is sick and requires antibiotics
First, at any cost avoid conventional antibiotics.
Use natural potent antibiotics as Manuka honey, raw honey or GSE which is grapefruit seed extract !
Animals respond well to the Holistic antibiotics as those work in sync with immune system which is very necessary to overcome a lot of conditions that require antibiotics in the first place.
However if you are believer and very set on using western medicine, know that conventional antibiotics will shatter pet’s immune system and pet may develop many other secondary health conditions as mites or mange.
It is important that every pet be placed on probiotics during and after conventional antibiotic treatment.
Benebac gel is one of those inexpensive probiotic supplements that will help rebuild the necessary good bacteria in pets digestive tract.
There are several options to repair the damage to intestinal lining.
Slippery Elm Bark
This is #1 Healing Herb That Soothes & Repairs Stomach & Intestines (Digestive Tract)
(Ref. Dr. Mandell)
Slippery elm:
- Increases the mucilage content in digestive tract
- Stimulates nerve endings to boost mucus secretion, which neutralizes excessive acidity in the gut & soothes ulcers
- Provides antioxidants
Oregon Grape
Oregon grape has been used for its digestive stimulant properties (relieving spasms in the intestinal tract), antimicrobial properties (including its anti-fungal, antibacterial, and anti-parasitic action), immune-boosting, and anti-inflammatory properties.
The berberine in Oregon grape may ease symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), as well as other stomach issues like gut inflammation.
Marshmallow root
Marshmallow root has a high mucilage content, which coats digestive tract with a protective lining. It can support gut’s reaction to inflammation, which in turn can impact ulcers, diarrhea, and constipation. Further, marshmallow root can help restore the integrity of the tight junctions found in gut wall.
This is one of the reasons why marshmallow root is so beneficial in restoring gut health.
Alfalfa
Another product to help repair intestinal tract is ALFALFA.
Alfalfa is a rich source of vitamin K. This botanical helps support rebuilding of the intestinal wall and other mucous membranes and helps the body to produce more of its own beneficial microbials. Alfalfa is known to balance hyperacidity in the digestive tract and has been traditionally used for digestive ailments. Alfalfa also supports the body’s normal inflammatory response.
Aloe Vera
Aloe vera soothes & protects. It helps body replace the lost mucus associated with gut damage. Aloe vera supports immune system and improves intestinal water balance. It also provides a wide range of nutrients and antioxidants, including vitamins A, C, and E.
Studies show aloe vera has ability to boost the number of good gut bacteria.

Acemannan
By Dr. Mark Smith
Acemannan is an immunomodulatory polysaccharide extracted from the popular healing herb Aloe Vera. Acemannan is a D – isomer mucopolysaccharide in aloe vera leaves. This compound has potential immunostimulant, antiviral, antineoplastic, and gastrointestinal properties.
Years ago, the FDA approved injectable Acemannan for treating Fibrosarcomas and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). But since injectable Acemannan is no longer available, the oral variety is your only choice.
Dr. Smith’s clinic uses the following protocol:
Loading dose: 1 teaspoonful of oral Acemannan daily for 5 days
Maintenance dose: 1/2 teaspoon daily for 4-5 weeks.
If you see an improvement in your pet, continue at a rate of 1/2 teaspoon daily.
You can buy Acemannan online and without a prescription.
L-Glutamine – Amino Acid
L-Glutamine amino acid helps mend broken junctions in intestinal wall so they can function normally. This is one of the absolute most important nutrients to help restore gut health due to the way it speeds up gut cell regeneration. L-Glutamine can also be used as a preventative nutrient, as is minimizes the damage caused by the food, toxins, infections, and stress.
Cats: 250 mg 2 x day

Use Probiotics & Enzymes to maintain pets health…
CASE HISTORY
In October 2023, one of my most precious rescues who became permanent due to blind eye, was diagnosed with Pancreatitis. Let me give you chain of events…
I happened to be near the litter box when I saw Jackie-Lina have an episode of really bad diarrhea. As she exited the litter box she threw up violently. With me having the pharmacy at home I was not that worried. In the next week she had on and off diarrhea and vomit and I took her in. Right away they want to put her on antibiotic! For what, they did not even diagnose with anything. Aside from one of the liver enzymes being little elevated, labs did not show anything that would give us any definite answers. I refused antibiotic as I know how much damage they do to both humans and animals.
Now lets move to a second subject and this is ANTIBIOTICS and how harmful they are to both humans and pets.
Some years ago and it had to be before 2015, I had a root canal and refused antibiotic. When novocaine wore off I was in so much pain that I changed my mind about taking antibiotic and called my dentist to call in prescription for me. I knew the protocol of taking ton of probiotics however, I had severe side effects that no probiotic could help.
I called my dentist office and they said they would call in “bla bla” prescription instead. At that time I did hot know to recognize meds as I do today. I googled information and remember clear as day that this particular antibiotic was so bad with such severe side effects that it is only given is situations when no other antibiotic will do, as it can cause irreversible damage to intestines and colon! I called my dentist office and politely told them to shove it! After only 3 doses of originally prescribed antibiotic I stopped. I used raw honey, turmeric and ginseng and in 3 days my infection was gone! Side effects continued for at least 2 more weeks if not longer.
I now have a dental issue and I was facing antibiotics. Out of curiosity I called that former dentist and inquired what was the antibiotics I was prescribed way back then, to which I had severe reaction. I was told it was AUGMENTIN with generic name of Amoxicillin and Clavulanate. She went on to say they prescribed something else as well, which is antibiotic that I refused. When she told me the name of that antibiotic I was in absolute shock! CLINDAMYCIN was antibiotic that I refused because side effects can cause irreversible damage to intestinal tract.
“What you need to know about this antibiotic is that it does not treat the common cold. A second infection may happen.
A severe and sometimes deadly reaction has happened. Most of the time, this reaction has signs like fever, rash, or swollen glands with problems in body organs like the liver, kidney, blood, heart, muscles and joints, or lungs.
If you are 60 or older, use this medicine (clindamycin capsules) with care. You could have more side effects.”
If this drug has such bad side effects, why are they giving it to humans as well as animals. I have heard CLINDAMYCIN mentioned hundreds of times in last few years that I have been involved in animal rescue!
I will always make darn sure that I never give animals antibiotics without first having diagnoses verified by labs and even then I would not give my animals anything with harsh side effects, which most western meds have. if I am up against the wall as I recently was and gave antibiotic to my dog for infection then I will do things to heal intestinal wall with above mentioned remedies and then rebuild their intestinal bacteria with BeneBac and in more severe cases use dog or cat biome to heal their intestinal tract. For those of you who do not know, biome supplement is an alternative to fecal transplant. It is a pricey supplement used in sick animals and still is it much cheaper than fecal transplant.
