It’s also high in minerals and is a less toxic choice than fish because it can be grown in filtered water, free of the heavy metals and toxic chemicals found in the ocean. And for this reason, it’s also a much more sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to fish. The omega-3 in phytoplankton can also be converted to EPA and DHA, which doesn’t happen well in other plant sources of omega-3. (EPA and DHA play a role in eye and brain health.)

DOSING
Due to its high bioavailability, you’ll only need a small amount
1/16 teaspoon a day for any sized dog (unless the phytoplankton contains fillers)
1/2 capsule a day small pets
1 capsule a day large pets

Exactly how much to supplement depends on the current health of your pet and the wellness goals you want to achieve. If your pet is currently in good health, I recommend supplementing as follows:
1/4 capsule daily for toy breeds and cats (1-14 lbs)
1/2 capsule daily for small dogs (15-30 lbs)
3/4 capsule daily for medium dogs (30-49 lbs)
1 capsule daily for large dogs (50-79 lbs)
